Banbridge U11 Boys – Junior Team of the Year!

ree

Banbridge U11 Boys were officially presented with their Junior Team of the Year award on 1st November at the Men's 1s league fixture against Monkstown — a proud moment for a truly exceptional squad.

We’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on our Banbridge Under 11 boys, a group whose talent, teamwork, and tenacity lit up last season. Undefeated throughout their campaign and crowned champions of the Ulster Hockey Blitz at PlayBall, these young players showed maturity beyond their years and a passion for hockey that was impossible to miss.

Their achievements earned them the prestigious Junior Team of the Year title at the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Sports Awards — a borough-wide celebration of sporting excellence. This award recognises club teams under 18 who have delivered outstanding performances and results at county or regional level or above, while also demonstrating commitment, sportsmanship, and development throughout the season.

Although a storm disrupted the original awards night, the team finally received their trophy on 1st November, during the Men’s 1s league fixture against Monkstown, with Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Jessica Johnston on hand to make the presentation.

Congratulations to: Joe Grimes, Archie Dunbar, Matthew Wilson, Jacob Annet, Alexander Lyndsey, and captain Will McCandless, with Solomon Greg and Ben Anderson also playing key roles in the squad’s success.

A special thank you goes to Patrick Grimes and Emma Lyndsey, whose coaching and support helped shape the team’s remarkable season.

Well done, lads — you’ve made Banbridge Hockey Club proud and set the bar high for seasons to come!
