CHARITY CROSS BAR CHALLENGE AT FINALS WEEKEND

Banbridge Hockey Club (BHC) with the generous support of EY are planning to run a charity cross bar challenge event for the competing teams in this weekend’s EY Champions Trophy.

The charity event will support the efforts of the Northern Ireland Hospice, EY’s charity partner, who provide specialist care to children, young people and adults with life-limiting illnesses.   The event will take place on Saturday immediately after the 2nd ladies semi-final (Hermes vrs Ulster Elks) at approx 2pm.

The event will involve each participant having one attempt to hit the crossbar with either a hit, drag, scoop, or flick from a pre-determined spot from the goals. It is expected that it will only take 15 minutes to complete this.

Each participating club is asked to nominate one person above the age of 18 to take part in this and nominations should be sent with the name of the club and their participant toinfo@banbridgehockeyclub.com by Thursday 28 April. If club’s do not wish to take part then please advise accordingly and other participants will be sought. EY have generously donated a prize to be awarded to the club whose representative first hits the crossbar. In order to supplement the charity element each club is asked to donate at least £20 to compete in the event with all these donations and the prize, if it is not won, all going to the NI Hospice. Club donations will be collected from the participants by the BHC compere just prior to the event.

Your support for this very worthy cause would be greatly appreciated. For any queries please contact BHC at info@banbridgehockeyclub.com
