Banbridge Hockey Club are delighted to confirm that they will host the EY Irish Hockey Champions Trophy finals weekend on the weekend of the 30th April – 1st May 2016

Sheree Totton, President of Banbridge Hockey Club stated; “We are delighted to have been selected by Hockey Ireland to host the finals weekend for the Irish Hockey Champions Trophy. We submitted a comprehensive bid to the Hockey Ireland to host this tournament and are pleased that we have been chosen despite stiff competition from other clubs. This event will be a great boost for the club and the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon district. ”

At this finals weekend, the EY Irish Hockey League top three finishers will be joined by the Irish Senior Cup Winner to battle to be the Number One in Ireland and the top representative spot in Europe next season.

Sheree added; “We have top class grounds and facilities at Banbridge Hockey Club and we look forward to hosting the finals here and welcoming players and supporters from all over the island to our club. Those competing in the EY Irish Hockey Champions Trophy finals will be the top teams from across the island of Ireland and it will be great to have such talent on display here in Banbridge. Two years ago we hosted the IHL finals weekend and it was a tremendous success both for the club and the local area and we plan to do the same again. The club will now be working hard to ensure that we deliver a great tournament that weekend and obviously it would be even more rewarding for the club and district if our Men’s 1st XI were competing! ”
