MORE HONOURS FOR BANN MEMBERS
Bann members from across the club have been selected to represent Ulster and Ireland in recent weeks for various games and tournaments. On the ladies side of the club, junior members Gina Woods and D’arcy Campbell both travelled to Scotland to represent Ulster Under 16s against Scotland and a Dutch side recently. Meanwhile Kyle Marshall and Jake Rowe were part of the Irish U16 side who secured three wins out of three against Wales in Wrexham last weekend. Both got their names on the score sheet and Kyle Marshall captained the side at one of the games.
Bann are well represented at the European Under 21 tournament starting in Lousada, Portugal this weekend. Owen Magee, Matthew Bell, Jonny McKee and new signing Jamie Wright have all been selected for matches against Russia, Ukraine and Portugal. Also in the panel are former Bann players Peter Brown and Ben Cosgrove.
At Irish Senior level, Bruce McCandless, Drew Carlisle and Eugene Magee played in games at UCD against England which saw Ireland losing the first game 3-2 and ending a 12-year wait for a victory over England when they won 2-1 in the second game to level the series.
Eugene Magee has since been selected as part of an 18 mad squad who will travel to London to compete against South Africa, Scotland and England in the Investec London Cup at the Olympic Park from Wednesday July 9th –Saturday July 13th.
