BHC success at District Sports Awards

Banbridge Hockey Club are delighted to have picked up two awards in the Banbridge District Sports Awards.  While Bruce McCandless, Simon Jess and Sheree Totton had been nominated and shortlisted for awards in the Sportsman of the Year, Coach of the Year and Services to Sports categories respectively, it was Mark Tumilty and the Men’s 1st XI who actually lifted the top prizes on the night.

 

Colin Dowds picked up the ‘Team of the Year’ award on behalf of the Men’s 1st XI which he captained in the successful 2012/13 season when BHC were winners of the Ulster Premier League and runners up in the Irish Hockey League.

 

The Club’s Mens 1st XI Head Coach Mark Tumilty won ‘Coach of the Year’ after he led the team to winning the Ulster Premier League for the first time in 24 years going unbeaten throughout the whole season.  The team were also runners up in the Irish Hockey League.
