Bell & Brown nominated for Irish Award
Two Banbridge Hockey Club players have been nominated in the Irish Hockey Association Under 18 Club Player (Boys) of the Year for the 2011/12 season. Matthew Bell and Peter Brown have both been nominated in this category of ten players. Both players are regular members of BHC 1st XI squad and were members of the Banbridge Academy 1st XI squad which won the Ulster School’s Burney Cup and Irish Schools competition. Both have represented Ulster and Ireland. Banbridge Academy has also been nominated in the ‘Hockey School of the Year’ category.
Banbridge Hockey Club encourages members and supporters to log on to the Irish Hockey Association’s webpage and vote for the local boys and the Academy. Votes will be accepted up to the 13th September. This process will produce a shortlist for each category with the winner announced on the night of the Irish Hockey Association Awards Ceremony which will be held on 20th October.
